An update from the PBUMC COVID-19 Task Force

December 23, 2020

The Perdido Bay UMC COVID-19 Task Force convened on December 22 at 5:00 PM to review our current policies and procedures concerning COVID-19, the rate of infection in our community, and the recent staff exposure. During the meeting, the Task Force was informed that the physicians serving on the Task Force were consulted immediately upon the pastors learning of the positive test of the staff member. Through this consultation, the pastors were able to make the proper decisions to maintain the safety and health of the church and the staff. Likewise, it reinforced the importance of the protocols in place to protect our church family. Because of the preventative measures in place, Christmas Eve services at Perdido Bay UMC will continue as planned with a nursery available at each service and with the sustained offering of a safe, loving, and hospitable environment to worship Christ.

The Task Force would like to commend the church staff and the entire Perdido Bay UMC church family for their diligence in observing and understanding the COVID-19 protocols in place on our campus. In closing, the Task Force continues to pray for Debi’s full and complete recovery and for the joy and hope of Christ to be celebrated during the four Christmas Eve services.
