SECOND BOOSTER DOSE ELIGIBILITY

Alberta Health announced that as of July 20, Albertans 18 and older can book appointments for a second booster dose of mRNA vaccineWhen assessing eligibility, take the longer of the two following time frames:

- At least 5 months after the third dose

- At least 3 months after a COVID-19 infection


This dose is strongly recommended for individuals who are at a high risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19, including:

- All residents of seniors’ congregate living facilities

- Individuals 50 years of age and older including: First Nations, Métis, and Inuit individuals


Eligible individuals can book their appointments through the Alberta vaccine booking system, or by calling Health Link (811). Select pharmacies will also be accepting walk-in appointments.

Several eligibility and operational changes to the PCR testing program are now in effect. 


IMPORTANT: Patient PCR laboratory requisitions must be faxed to the central Health Intake office (403-943-6700) - this fax number is different from the one at the top of the requisition form.
