GAVILAN COLLEGE : STATUS :
  • All locations of Gavilan College are closed. All instruction and services will be provided in an online format through the end of Spring semester.
  • Summer Session will be online.
  • Registration for Summer and Fall will be done separately this year. Summer registration will begin on April 27
  • Fall registration will begin on June 22
More Gavilan Faculty and Staff create masks for the NICU

It started when Jackie Richburg, Career / Transfer Specialist at Gavilan College found out about the needs at California Pacific Medical Center, where her daughter is a Neonatologist. They needed cloth masks so parents could visit their newborns in the NICU. She reached out for volunteers to make the masks, and elastic to make them with. Theater instructor John Lawton-Haehl offered to help with both. With fabric donations from family and friends, he generated 30 masks. One of his seamstress contractors, Heather Murillo, is also donating her time and fabric to help with this project. Communication instructor Kelly Alviso also created 15 masks (shown).

NEW - Governor Newsom announced today the six critical indicators that the state will consider before modifying the stay-at-home order. He said there is no current timeline for modifying the order, but that it would be guided by the data and science. These are the indicators:
  • The ability to monitor and protect our communities through testing, contact tracing, isolating and supporting those who are positive or exposed;
  • The ability to prevent infection in people who are at risk for more severe COVID-19;
  • The ability of the hospital and health systems to handle surges;
  • The ability to develop therapeutics to meet the demand;
  • The ability for businesses, schools, and child care facilities to support physical distancing; and
  •  The ability to determine when to reinstitute certain measures, such as the stay-at-home orders, if necessary. .

Economic Impact Payments

The IRS is committed to helping you get your Economic Impact Payment as soon as possible. The payments, also referred to by some as stimulus payments, are automatic for most taxpayers. No further action is needed by taxpayers who filed tax returns in 2018 and 2019 and most seniors and retirees.
