GAVILAN COLLEGE : STATUS :
  • All locations of Gavilan College are closed. All instruction and services will be provided in an online format through the end of Spring semester.
  • Summer Session will be entirely online.
  • Summer registration will begin on April 27
  • Fall registration will begin on June 22
  • Scholarship application deadline extended until May 3
  • NEW - The Summer schedule of classes will be posted online Friday, April 17
NEWS

  • NEW- Silicon Valley Economic Recovery and Resilience Council: The Silicon Valley Economic Recovery and Resilience Council (SV-ERRC), announced today, will consist of a group of Silicon Valley business leaders who will make policy recommendations to set the path for economic recovery in the region.
  • NEW - Governor Newsom announced assistance for people who grow, pick, pack, cook, serve, sell, and deliver food in the state. The executive order allows for two weeks of supplemental sick leave for workers that have contracted COVID-19, been exposed to the coronavirus, or been required to quarantine or isolate by officials. . 
  • NEW - President Trump today unveiled guidelines on reopening the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The new guidance leaves the decisions up to governors to make on a statewide or county-by-county level.
  • NEW - State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond today announced the creation of a new task force to close the digital divide for California students who lack access to resources such as internet connectivity and devices

  • While the scholarship amounts vary, please indicate a dollar amount, up to $200, to help you through this time.

VIRTUAL TOWN HALL

The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office invites you to join our Virtual Town Hall , which will kick off the first-ever Board of Governors Virtual Advocacy Day . Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley, members of the Board and Chancellor’s Office staff will be advocating for system priorities, including additional funds and resources necessary in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, to support the California Community Colleges and our students. The Virtual Town Hall will also feature members of the Legislature and a moderated student panel.
