The Associated Students of Gavilan College (ASGC), your student government representatives, are committed to supporting the students of Gavilan College in this precarious time. The ASGC Centennial Scholarship is for students that have been effected by Covid-19.

  • Complete this statement: In 150 words or less, describe what it has been like to be a Gavilan College student in the 19/20 Centennial Year. You will have the option, by selecting yes or no, to have your statement placed in the time capsule, which will be opened in 50 years.
  • Complete this statement: In 150 words or less, describe your need for this scholarship, or how this scholarship will help you. This statement is confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside of the selection committee.
  • While the scholarship amounts vary, please indicate a dollar amount, up to $200, to help you through this time.

“Face coverings” refers to bandanas, scarves, towels, or other pieces of cloth or fabric worn over the mouth and nose. Face coverings are especially important for activities such as doctor appointments, grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, and riding on public transit, when being near people outside of one's own household is unavoidable. Face coverings are not recommended while exercising, as it may cause breathing issues. Medical masks, such as N-95 and surgical masks, should be reserved for healthcare settings.

The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office invites you to join our Virtual Town Hall , which will kick off the first-ever Board of Governors Virtual Advocacy Day . Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley, members of the Board and Chancellor’s Office staff will be advocating for system priorities, including additional funds and resources necessary in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, to support the California Community Colleges and our students. The Virtual Town Hall will also feature members of the Legislature and a moderated student panel.
