ASGC CENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIPS - for students affected by Covid-19

Application Closes at 5 pm on April 23

The Associated Students of Gavilan College (ASGC), your student government representatives, are committed to supporting the students of Gavilan College in this precarious time. The ASGC Centennial Scholarship is for students that have been effected by Covid-19.
GAVILAN COLLEGE STATUS :
Spring 2020 Grades
  • We hope you are able to complete your classes for Spring 2020, and that you will reach out to us if you need help.
  • EW: If you determine that you will be unable to complete one or more Spring classes due to the impacts of COVID-19, you may apply for and Emergency Withdrawal (EW) grade.
  • An EW grade counts as a "drop"
  • It can affect your eligibility for financial aid
  • Please check with a counselor before exercising this option
  • You have up to one year from the end of the term to petition for an EW.
  • P/NP: The deadline to select the Pass/No-pass option for classes that offer it has been extended until May 15.
Returning Your Rental Books

Textbook rentals are due May 26 th . Rental Patrons will need to ship rentals back to the store using a prepaid return shipping label.

There are two ways to get a Prepaid Rental Return Shipping Label
  1. Wait for the rental reminder email that will be sent to you 14 days before your rental due date. The email will be sent again 7 days prior, 3 days prior, and the day of your due date. This email will contain a link to generate a free return shipping label and packing slip.
  2. Or you can immediately generate a free return shipping label on our website at gavilanshop.com, in your account:
  • Click the Sign In link on the top right side of the page to sign into your account.
  • Enter the email address you provided at the register when you rented. Note: Even if you rented in the store, an account was created using the email you provided at the registration
  • If you don’t know your password, you can click Forgot Password link for a temporary password to be emailed to you.
  • Once you’ve signed in, click the link “Rentals”. You will be navigated to the Rentals page in your account.
  • On Rentals page, scroll down the page to see the books you rented. Click the link “Return All Rentals by Mail”. You can also click the button “Return by Mail”. Both open a pop up to select your rentals to ship back.
  • Follow the steps to generate and print the return label and packing slip. This option is available until your rental due date.

If you do not know the email address your books are rented under or do not have access to the email address you rented under, please email bookstore@gavilan.edu
 
Q:Can I BUY my rentals on the website?
  • If you originally rented your textbook in the store, there is no option to buy the rental on the website at this time. Please email bookstore@gavilan.edu to set up a time to pay over the phone.
  • If you rented your textbook online, you have an option to buy your rental on the website, on the Rentals page.
 
Selling Back Textbooks (Book Buyback)
You may sell back books online (ship your books) through the “Sell Your Textbooks” link in the site footer.

How to Sell Your Textbooks Online
  1. Click “Sell Your Textbooks” link from the website footer.
  2. On the Sell Your Textbooks page, refer to the Online section and click “Sell Your Textbooks” button.
NEWS
NEW -Governor Newsom said today that it is still too soon to reopen the state’s economy but he did announce plans to resume delayed health care, including surgeries and preventative care, that were deferred during the initial COVID-19 response.

NEW - Santa Clara County has determined that three people with the coronavirus died as weeks before the U.S. reported its first official death from the disease. The newly reported deaths shows the virus was spreading across the state before officials realized it.

NEW - The IRS is offering an Economic Impact Payment discussion that will answer eligibility questions about relief payments, provide scam protection information and offer a demonstration of the Get My Payment tool. The discussion is tomorrow, Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. Find more information and a registration link here.
