How Cosmetology adapts to online instruction

" Students have their supplies at home, so they can still perform services as they would in class,” said Gilbert Ramirez, Cosmetology Department Supervisor. “They are learning how to use Canvas and ZOOM, remaining in constant contact and understand what is happening.”


GAVILAN COLLEGE: STATUS :
  • All locations of Gavilan College are closed. All instruction and services will be provided in an online format through the end of Spring semester. Summer Session will be online.
  • Registration for Summer and Fall will be done separately this year. Summer registration will begin on April 27; Fall registration will begin on June 22


NEWS
  • NEW -Gov. Newsom today announced that, beginning Sunday, California workers who are receiving unemployment benefits will begin receiving an extra $600 on top of their weekly amount.
  • NEW - The Department of Education has posted the allocation for colleges and universities under the CARES Act. The near $6 billion in funding is to be used to provide direct emergency cash grants to students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. California community college students will get nearly $300 million in aid.
