An Update from us on COVID-19: March 20, 2020
Happy Friday. Today brings to a close a very unusual week, one that has seen more changes than I would have imagined only a month ago. I am proud to be a part of the Gavilan College community, and inspired by the way faculty, staff, and students have risen to the challenge of this new situation. We have more work to do, but remain committed to the safety, health, and success of all of our students.

  • GAVILAN COLLEGE:
  • All locations of Gavilan College are closed to staff, students, and the public
  • All instruction and services have been transitional to an online format

  • FOR STUDENTS:
  • Federal Work Study (FWS) - Students receiving Federal Work study will continue to be paid. Federal law includes a provision allowing an institution to make FWS payments under certain limited circumstances to disaster-affected students who are unable to continue working.
  • The Chancellor's Office has also launched a Student Resource Webpage. Some common questions are answered there. Keep checking the site as it is updated daily.

  • FOR STAFF AND FACULTY:
  • Equity Work is Critical Now! Response to COVID-19s impact on HIgher Education https://www.continuous-learning-institute.com/
  • College practitioners can find COVID-19 resources, information, and community within the Vision Resource Center. Create an account or log in. Under the “Connect” menu, visit “All Communities” and look for the “CCC | COVID-19 Resources, Tools and Discussion” section. Click “Join Community” to access the content within
  • For online instruction support requests, please contact CVC-OEI.
