COVID-19 Update: May
April 28, 2020
Dear customer,
As April draws to an end, I wanted to touch base to give you an update and inform you of our plans as we head into May. Your support through this closure thus far has left us grateful, humbled, and inspired. Every dollar we have received through April has allowed our small business to survive six weeks of closure. Most importantly, your support through April has:

  • Kept our staff working: Because of you, we were able to employ or re-hire all of our full-time and most of our part-time staff.
  • Provided 100% of healthcare benefits to all staff who receive them through PRG: We are committed to paying health insurance for our staff who depend on it, as it seems especially necessary during a health crisis.
  • Helped to ensure that we have jobs to come back to: Surviving the closure is only the first step of this battle for a small business. Reopening comes with staffing expenses in an extremely unpredictable and uncertain environment. Your support helps to ensure future employment for our employees.
  • Helped us support other small businesses: Because of you, we have been able to pay other small vendors in the local area and climbing community who are struggling to pay their own staffs and suffering the same economic hardships as we all are.

So, again, thank you so much for your continued support, patience and understanding. We cannot do it without you.

Our physical facilities remain closed, so we will be spending our time creating content for PRG Remote, planning for our reopening, and giving back to our community as we are able.

Going forward into May, we will keep you updated on our evolving plans, as the State continues to announce its strategy for lifting the closure, and, eventually, lifting restrictions on businesses like ours. We are cautiously optimistic that our governor will provide concrete guidance on his plan soon, which will allow us to determine a more permanent way forward for our gyms and the community of climbers we serve.

And, of course, we will continue to provide the best possible content and at-home workouts on PRG Remote.

As a thank you to those who continue with your May payment, we are offering:

  • Two months of group training sessions when we reopen, to help you get back into climbing shape as quickly as possible.*
  • A month of free drinks upon re-opening!*

We understand, as well, that many of our community have seen a significant negative impact to their financial well-being, not to mention the myriad of other difficulties this crisis continues to cause for all of us. During this closure, if, at any time you need to suspend your membership payment, you may do so by filling out the form below. All advanced notice requirements and fees for suspensions are waived, and once our doors reopen, you will be able to restart your membership without delay.

Due to our current limitations as a result of the restrictions, we ask that you request your suspension only through the link below. We are unable to reliably process email requests at this time**.

If you have already claimed an April suspension or requested a cancellation, your May payment will be automatically suspended. No action is needed on your part.

I want to, once again, on behalf of myself and all of the PRG Staff, say how grateful we are for your patience, understanding, and support during this crisis. We are humbled and inspired by you, our wonderful community, during this difficult situation, and very much look forward to seeing you all as soon as the crisis allows.

*May Payment Benefits: Group Training Sessions will be provided at all locations two to three times per week upon reopening, and will be offered on a first come, first serve basis (details will be announced at a later date). Free drinks will be offered for 30 days past the date of re-opening, and are limited to one per eligible customer per visit.

**Regarding Cancellation Requests: Due to the potential volume of requests and limited resources, we will be unable to process cancelations until the current restrictions are lifted. If you desire to cancel your membership, please claim your suspension via the form above, then submit your cancelation request to this email: membership@philarockgym.com . Cancellations will be processed upon reopening, in the order they are received.
