COVID-19 Update
June 17, 2020
Reopening Guidelines
On June 12, Sacramento County determined that our county was in good standing (in regards to COVID-19 cases) and now ready to follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health, released June 5 .

In alignment with that guidance, the Lincoln Village Community Pool, White Rock Splash Park, spray parks and Mather Sports Center will open with restrictions.

At this time, most recreation programs are still on hold until further notice. The virtual recreation center remains available for free and unlimited usage .

Waiting for more information
Parks are open but some park amenities in parks, such as playgrounds, basketball courts and skate parks, are closed while others, like tennis courts and the Hagan Community Dog Park, are open for limited use. As we move into stage 3 the county is permitted to determine when we can open amenities, but they must first wait for the state to say “how” we can open through guidance documents.

On Friday, June 5, we received guidance on professional sports with no crowds but did not receive guidance regarding youth/local sports.

More information coming soon...
We are awaiting state and local government guidance on the following items:
  • Youth & adult sports (plus general sport field/court use)
  • Events (No gatherings are permitted)
Remains closed for your safety
Closed:
  • Playgrounds
  • Basketball Courts
  • Amphitheaters
  • Skate Parks
  • Picnic Tables/Pavilions
  • BBQs

Special Note: Playgrounds
We have received many messages over the past few weeks about playgrounds. Though we have caution taped-off all playgrounds and posted signage in parks and on play structures, our efforts are often disregarded. We will no longer be re-caution-taping playgrounds every morning. However, signs will remain posted and replaced if necessary. We hope that our community members will follow the California Department of Health's guidance and Sacramento County Health Order, making the best decision for their family and community's safety.

When the state issued new guidance for outdoor recreation on June 5, it specifically stated that playgrounds should remain closed. When the state and county determine it is safe for playgrounds to reopen, we will inform our community.
