Dear YULA Family,
We have been notified this evening that a student at YULA Girls has tested positive for COVID-19. Baruch Hashem her symptoms are mild and she is feeling well at this time.
The onset of her symptoms was on Thursday, March 12 and she tested positive over the weekend. She will be in isolation and the family will be in quarantine over the next 14 days.
It is our responsibility to share that this student did attend
with her family and did join the YULA delegation for various events and programs over Shabbat and the course of policy conference. This student also attended the
Bnei Akiva Shabbaton
last weekend at the Dovid Oved Retreat Center.
As the onset of her symptoms was this Thursday, after our campus had already been shut down, we have been told by the
Acute Communicable Disease Bureau
that is heading the
COVID-19 Response Team that there is a low risk of exposure, however we cannot say anything more definitive at this time.
We will continue to work closely with the Department of Health and we will update our YULA community as we receive more information. The Department of Health will be interviewing the family tomorrow and will be in touch with anybody within our community in the event that they need to take additional precautions.
In the meantime, please join us in davening to Hashem to end this Pandemic and heal all those in need of a Refuah Shleima immediately.
