In an effort to keep our members current on the latest information regarding the coronavirus crisis, the Medical Society of Delaware is sharing the following:
Registration Now Open for Curative
Second Dose Events

Registration for second-dose Curative events in all three counties is now open as of 10 a.m. this morning. These events are for individuals who received first doses at state-run vaccination events in January. Anyone without proof of first vaccination on or before January 18 will be turned away from the vaccination events, even if they have an appointment.

The second dose events will be hosted from February 15-19 at Delaware Technical Community College (DTCC) campuses in Dover, Wilmington, and Georgetown. The DTCC events are planned for Phase 1A-eligible Delaware workers and 65+ Delawareans who received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at state-sponsored large vaccination events. Read more.

Important DelVAX Reporting Reminder

Governor John Carney issued the Sixth Modification to his Omnibus State of Emergency Declaration last week, which among other things requires Delaware vaccination providers to report to the Delaware Immunization Information System (DelVAX) complete demographic information within 24 hours of administering a vaccine.

The modification also requires health care providers, pharmacies and other entities that provide vaccinations to offer the shots free of charge, though insurance information may be collected.

Enrolled vaccination providers must follow eligibility criteria in Delaware's COVID-19 vaccination program, as defined by the Division of Public Health (DPH). Failure to comply with data reporting requirements may result in fines for providers and reductions in vaccine allocation. Read more.
