CDC Updates Guidelines for the Dental Setting
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated the Interim Infection Prevention and Control Guidance for Dental Settings During the COVID-19 Response. The update includes:

  • Description of risk to dental healthcare personnel when providing emergency care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Recommendations for contacting patients prior to emergency dental care.
  • Recommendations for providing emergency dental care to non-COVID-19 patients including engineering controls, work practices, and infection control considerations.
  • Potential exposure guidance.
  • Contingency and crisis planning.
Q & A Video Answers ADA Interim Guidance Questions
In response to questions regarding the ADA Interim Guidance for Minimizing Risk of COVID-19 Transmission, the ADA has developed a Q & A video. The video includes such topics as:

  • Use of personal protective equipment.
  • Coordinating care with other members of the medical community.
  • Infection control in the future for dentistry.
