Members of the Mount Union Community,

In an effort to do our part to help minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the University of Mount Union has reached an agreement with the Aultman Health Foundation to temporarily house Aultman employees on our campus. As part of this agreement, King Hall, which is currently vacant, will be made available to Aultman Alliance Community Hospital and Aultman Hospital employees who want to shorten their commutes between long shifts or want to avoid the risk of inadvertently transmitting the virus to their family members by returning to their permanent places of residence in between shifts.

Throughout the development of this partnership, ensuring the safety of the Mount Union community was our top priority. As a result, Aultman will manage interactions with those who request housing, and a third-party cleaning service will tend to the occupied space in King Hall on a daily basis. The partnership agreement also includes a number of other safety measures that must be met. Housing is only open to those who are asymptomatic of the COVID-19 virus.

The University will offer this housing for the next two months with the understanding that the initial term may be lengthened depending on the duration of the pandemic.

As an institution that values its role in developing responsible citizens, we recognize that this is a time for collaboration and cooperation. We are proud to join with Aultman in support of the healthcare providers who are working on the front lines of this pandemic so that they can spend their time focusing on meeting the healthcare needs of our community.
