Governor Lifts Delaware Mask Mandate
Today Governor Carney announced the State of Delaware will lift its requirement that Delawareans and visitors must wear face coverings anytime they are indoors with others outside their household. This change will become effective May 21st.
Delawareans should follow masking guidance issued on Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for all indoor and outdoor activities pertaining to fully vaccinated individuals.
The CDC guidance indicates that fully vaccinated people can stop wearing masks in most places indoors and outdoors, except in crowded settings.
Those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear masks when around others who are outside their immediate household, according to CDC guidance.
Governor Carney also formally extended the
State of Emergency declaration another 30 days to confront community spread of COVID-19 and to continue administering vaccines to Delawareans.
