87% of Iowa Dental Offices Reopened
Data from the  ADA Health Policy Institute May 18 poll  shows that 14.3 percent of Iowa dental offices are back to “business as usual” and 73.2 percent are open but seeing a lower patient volume. The poll reports the largest barrier to reopening offices nationwide in states where restrictions have been lifted is lack of PPE. The poll also shows the percentage of Iowa dental offices reporting eight or more days of PPE supplies as follows:

  • N95/KN95: 57.2 percent
  • Surgical masks: 87.5 percent
  • Face shields: 85.7 percent
  • Gowns: 50.9 percent
 
Lists of PPE suppliers and other vendors are available on the  IDA website . These lists are updated regularly as new resources become available.
