COVID-19 Update: Pfizer Granted EUA for Youth Ages 12-15, 2nd Dose Reminder for Alderman Reilly’s Clinic and East Bank Club Hosting Vaccine Clinic
Youth Age 12 to 15 Can Be Vaccinated at City Vaccine Sites Offering Pfizer Starting Thursday

The City of Chicago announced that all City-operated vaccination sites offering Pfizer vaccine will be open to youth age 12 to 15 effective Thursday, May 13 (pending CDC approval). Yesterday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted emergency use authorization (EUA) for that age group and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is expected to grant full approval on Wednesday. 

City-operated vaccine site appointments for Thursday can be booked now through the City’s call center at (312)746-4835 or through Zocdoc. All vaccine sites will accept walk-ins for 12 to 15 year-olds effective Thursday. A parent or guardian must accompany any minor under age 18, and unvaccinated parents and guardians will be encouraged to receive a vaccine as well. No appointment will be necessary, although pre-registration is encouraged. 

The following City-operated vaccination sites with Pfizer will be open to youth age 12 and older:

Reminder: 2nd Dose Appointments for Alderman Reilly's Vaccine Clinic Are Thursday, May 13

Alderman Reilly, in partnership with Aldermen Hopkins, Burnett, and Smith, hosted a vaccine clinic in Old Town on Thursday, April 22. If you attended this event, your second dose is scheduled to occur this Thursday, May 13.  

Please show up at the same time as your first appointment to the same location in Old Town. (For example, if you had a 10:00am appointment on April 22, your Thursday, May 13 appointment is also at 10:00am). Additionally, please bring the following items: 

  • Photo ID  
  • May 13 Registration / Consent form 
  • CDC Card  

All attendees should have received an email reminder, with a registration/consent form in case you misplaced it.  

The CDC encourages everyone to receive the second shot to ensure the vaccine’s effectiveness and protection from COVID-19. If you do not receive your second vaccination, you are not considered fully vaccinated.

East Bank Club Hosting Vaccine Clinic This Week

The East Bank Club (EBC) is also offering COVID vaccinations, by appointment only. Prism Health Lab will administer the vaccine and are offering Moderna. Appointments are still available for the following days:  

Dose 1 
  • Wednesday, May 12, 2 - 6 pm (Dose 2 – June 9)  
  • Friday, May 14, 11 am - 3 pm (Dose 2 – June 11)  

The Vaccination Clinic will be held in the Riverview Room, located past the Food Shop. You may register and schedule your appointment here: http://www.prism.org/ebc. 

Clinic days and times may vary, and EBC will communicate additional vaccination schedules as vaccine supply is confirmed through Prism Health Lab. 

Once your registration and intake forms are complete, you will receive appointment confirmation via text message. Dose 2 appointments will automatically be set within their scheduling system. All communication and scheduling are managed by Prism Health Lab.
