The impact of COVID-19 cases in our region is correlated with the vaccination status of our residents. Following my previous messages on January 5 (on immediate mitigation measures to take) and January 11 (on procurement of protective equipment and testing), I would like to share information on how you can promote vaccination and boosters.
To reduce the burden COVID is placing on our hospitals and prevent unnecessary loss of life, we need to continuously urge our residents to get vaccinated and boosted, and expand access for them to do so. We've updated our Omicron response webpage with information, resources, and details on our recommendations below.
Steps to Promote Vaccines and Boosters
- Require full vaccination and promote boosters for all public sector workers.
- Require proof of vaccination for entry to restaurants, gyms, and other indoor public venues.
- Bring vaccines and boosters to older adults and those with pre-existing health conditions.
- Share vaccination information with residents.
