Members of the Campus Community,

During Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s daily address, he shared news that Stark County, in which the University of Mount Union is located, has been elevated to a Level 3 (red) within the Ohio Public Health Advisory Alert System. The alert system is a color-coded system designed to supplement existing statewide orders through a data-driven framework to assess the degree of the virus’ spread and to engage and empower individuals, businesses, communities, local governments, and others in their response and actions.

In light of this recent announcement, we are reaching out to implore you to remain vigilant in your efforts to do your part to help prevent the spread of this illness. Please adhere to the institution’s four personal safety practices and the additional recommendations provided below regarding your interactions with individuals on and off campus. As a reminder, the four personal safety practices include:

  1. Conduct a daily health self-assessment
  2. Wear a face covering
  3. Maintain social distancing
  4. Maintain personal hygiene

As we continue to learn and live on campus, your unrelenting diligence will be paramount to our efforts to keep our community safe and well. Our ability to continue to offer the campus experience our students desire – in-person education, residential life, campus engagement, etc. – depends in large measure on our ability to meet these expectations and to hold ourselves and others accountable.
As a reminder, the Fall 2020 Responsible Reopening Guide is very much subject to change as our knowledge of COVID-19 continues to evolve and new or revised guidelines are presented.
