The Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association continues to monitor the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on our industry. The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak remains extremely fluid and any status may change rapidly. Here are updates as of March 20, 2020:
Governor Pritzker issued
Executive Order 2020-10
today that orders residents of Illinois to "stay at home" effective from 5:00 PM on March 21, 2020 through April 7, 2020. The "stay at home" requirement does not impact individuals providing "any services or perform any work necessary to offer, provision, operate, maintain and repair Essential Infrastructure." Essential Infrastructure includes public works construction, and roads, highways, railroads, and public transportation." At this time, it appears IL DOT and IL Tollway design, construction, and maintenance projects will continue as planned. IAPA and other industry partners will continue to work collaboratively to ensure the essential construction and maintenance of Illinois highway infrastructure continues. Therefore, unless directed otherwise by staff of the IL DOT or IL Tollway, members are encouraged to continue to prepare for the construction season by completing required plant/equipment maintenance and calibrations.
Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions. Thank you.
