The Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association continues to monitor the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on our industry. The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak remains extremely fluid and any status may change rapidly. Here are updates as of March 27, 2020:

IAPA will be sending out an electronic ballot for members to vote on the association's Officers and Board of Directors. In addition, a virtual business meeting will also be scheduled. Please be sure to look for these notices.

While most projects continue to move forward, work on the I-74 bridge was halted this week after at least one worker tested positive for COVID-19. IAPA members are encouraged to develop a response plan if someone on your worksite tests positive. On March 26, 2020, the Illinois Department of Transportation has issued a memorandum on dealing with project delays due to COVID-19 .

Both the House and Senate have canceled session for next week. The House took the additional action of extending the committee deadline for House bills to get out of committee to April 24 and the 3 rd reading deadline for House bills to pass out of the House chamber is extended to May 8. It remains unknown, however, when the General Assembly will resume session and how it will conduct its business.

Please be sure to register for next week's webinars .

Please contact me with any questions. Thank you.
