GRACE PERIOD EXTENSION INFORMATION
Employers need to contact the Aetna Answer team to work out a payment plan directly with them. The Aetna Answer Team can be reached by phone at

Groups have 60 days to remit April & May premiums.
Premiums are due by June 5, 2020.
Clients must complete a Grace Period Extension Agreement, sign and email to the address at the bottom of the form. If the form is being sent on behalf of a group the group needs to be copied on the email when being submitted.
Consistent with recent CT regulatory requirements Harvard Pilgrim will provide a grace period of 60-days to fully insured groups that qualify. In order to qualify for the grace period of 60 days, clients must have been in good standing as of March 12th .
 
In addition, in order to apply for the 60-day grace period, the employer must provide,  in writing , information on their letterhead as to why they have been impacted by COVID-19 and why they would need the extended grace period.

Requests will be reviewed by Finance. If approved, a 60-day rolling grace period for approved groups will be in place starting with April premium until the Executive Order expires.

  • Is the business opened or closed for business?
  • When can they pay their March or April Invoice?
  • Type of Business?

Treasury Secretary Says More
Funding Coming for Small
Businesses
In a press interview on Wednesday, April 8, 2020,Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said that small businesses don’t need to worry about not being able
to receive funding from the U.S.
government in the wake of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
pandemic.

He added that the White House is working with the Small Business Administration (SBA) to raise
additional funding on top of the $350 billion provided by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) for small businesses across the country.
