Dear MAM members and friends,

We are writing to update you on our procedures and precautions regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. As a community organization and a communal space, we understand the vital importance of public health and protecting our community. Your safety and health are of the greatest concern to us!!

MAM staff are following the recommendations of national health organizations like the CDC as well as institutional guidelines from the American Alliance of Museums and guidelines issued locally from our City and County governments

Overall, MAM remains a relatively low-risk environment and remains open for visitors. As of today, we have not cancelled or postponed any events.  We are taking extra steps to preserve a healthy environment including:

  • Increased sanitation and cleaning regimens for both public and office spaces across the museum, including doorknobs, tables and railings.
  • Hand sanitizer is available to visitors and we have posted notices encouraging proper hygiene in all restrooms.
  • Maximum cleanliness is being maintained in MAM’s classrooms and students are required to undergo hand washing before, during and after classes.

Of course, we urge museum visitors to stay home if you are sick. Children who have been sick should not attend MAM classes within 24 hours, as per local public school policy.

We understand that the situation is rapidly evolving, and we are monitoring our daily operations closely. We are having frequent discussions about the status of upcoming events and will keep you appraised. Any changes to MAM programs or operations will be announced through social media and our website.

Thank you for your support and be well!
