Dear Pickering Manor Families,

As promised, we would like to keep our families up to date through email communications on our current situation due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus).
The health and safety of our residents will continue to be our top priority as we provide the care they need on a daily basis. Pickering Manor has put into place restricted visitation of all visitors, vendors, volunteers and non-essential personnel. Through the guidance of healthcare associations and our local and state government, we are screening all personnel, essential doctors and vendors upon entry to the resident care areas. This process will also be conducted in advance of any new assessments or admissions.

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, we received recommendations to cancel all communal dining and communal activities. Residents are being provided meals in their room and we are practicing social distancing. Our staff is providing special attention/room visits with activity projects, phone calls, exercise, etc…
We will continue to follow all CDC (Center for Disease Control), CMS (Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services), and DOH (Department of Health) recommendations as they are updated. With this said, please understand these recommendations are happening frequently. Through email communication, we will keep you updated to any future changes.

We realize that this is a difficult time for everyone in our country. Pickering Manor is dedicated to support our seniors and their families during this time. We are available to answer any questions you may have via phone. We also have Skype set up if you wish to speak with your family member through video chat. Please feel free to email us a username and we will be happy to setup a time for a call. We will also be posting updates on our website (www.pickeringmanor.org) where you can find our Social Media links as well. Please feel free to like our page and follow.

As always, we appreciate your confidence in us to provide care to your loved one. We will continue to update you, as usual, on any medical changes with your loved one if they arise. We are in this together and are only a phone call away.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding,

Terry Ziegler, RN
