Dear T&C Sports Parents and Friends,
We hope your families are doing well as we come to what would normally be the end of Spring Break. Here are a number updates and resources we hope you find helpful.
T&C Sports Campus
Sports play and field use remain suspended through April 5
th. We will keep you advised as we get closer to that date. We continue to have optimism that conditions will improve enough to safely complete our spring sports season. We monitor daily the key organizations relevant to our services such as local and national government agencies, Round Rock ISD, and sports governing associations.
The T&C Sports staff continues to be available to our customers Monday through Friday via phone and email from 9 am - 4 pm. The office and campus are closed except for staff in order to minimize person to person contact.
We are using this down time for field remediation, irrigation repair and mowing. It remains important for everyone’s safety to stay off the fields.
T&C Sports ‘Help Every Kid Play’ Golf Tournament
Our annual charity golf tournament has been rescheduled from April 10
to Friday, September 18
. We hope you’ll join us then for a fun round of golf for a good cause. Nationally and locally, youth sports participation rates are much lower for low income families than more affluent ones. This tournament helps us help more kids play. We thank sponsors
, Joel & Laurel Reed,
Southwest Retirement Counselors
, Mark & Monica von Waaden, and
who have already given their support.
Excellent Youth Sports Resources
The Aspen Institute Project Play is one of the best national sources on youth sports research and guidance.
specifically examines the impact of the Coronavirus on youth sports now.
The Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is a national T&C Sports partner with outstanding guidance for players, parents and coaches. They offer several links to help parents and players during this downtime period.
We are Optimists!
T&C Sports is sanctioned by the Town & Country Optimist Club and Foundation. During this tough time, we are staying true to our roots and remaining positive that we’ll have thousands of kids playing sports again in coming weeks and months.
Thank you for sharing your kids with us, coaching, commissioning and helping in all the ways it takes to make this a fun and learning experience.
