The Village of Wilmette is closely monitoring the COVID-19. As the situation evolves, please know that the Village will continue to provide essential public services, such as police, fire and public works.

To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and employees, the Public Works Facility and the Historical Museum will be closed to the public starting on Friday, March 13 and Village Hall will be closed to the public starting on Monday, March 16. These closures will be in effect until further notice. Staff will still be available to conduct Village services by phone, email or by appointment as appropriate. Other facilities, including the Police Station, will remain open to the public.

NOTE: Village Hall will be open on Tuesday, March 17 for the Illinois Primary Election, though there will be no in-person Village services.

Village Staff will be working to ensure the continued delivery of important services, such as building permits and real estate transfers and will communicate alternate service delivery methods as information becomes available. Services such as utility bill payment, vehicle sticker renewals and invoice payments can all be completed through the  Village's website , via a dropbox located at the front entrance of Village Hall or by mail - Village of Wilmette, 1200 Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091. The Village strongly encourages residents and businesses to use online services as much as possible. If you need assistance with services such as processing a payment online or via mail, please contact us with any inquiries.

The Village of Wilmette is canceling all public meetings through March 20. This includes Zoning Board of Appeals; open houses for the Neighborhood Stormwater Storage Project and the Skokie Boulevard and Lake Avenue Intersection Improvements; and Administrative Adjudication. The Village will communicate details regarding the rescheduling of these meetings when it's available.

The Village will continue to reassess conditions and provide updates to the community on facility closures and public meetings. Please continue to check the  Village's website , sign up for  E-News and follow the Village on  social media channels  for future updates. Please check with other governmental entities, such as the school districts, Wilmette Public Library and Wilmette Park District about potential closures or cancellations.

These decisions were made based upon guidance from the CDC, which recommends limiting in-person interactions to prevent exposure and spread of COVID-19. As always, the Village's top priority is to promote the health and safety of our customers, employees and community.
