As news of the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, the IWS Children’s Clinic continues to stay up to date on the current situation and all recommendations made by the CDC, Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH). Your safety and health continue to be our priority.

The IWS Children’s Clinic is currently open and maintaining our standard hours. For precautionary reasons, all patients, both over the phone or in person, will be screened by our reception staff to reduce risk for transfer of illness to patients and staff. If assessment determines potential contact or symptoms associated with COVID-19 the patient will be directed to contact the nearest Emergency Department for further assessment.

All dental patients who arrive with respiratory symptoms will be refused treatment and asked to reschedule once they are well and symptom free. Any immunocompromised dental patients should delay dental visits until the risk of exposure has passed.

Please continue practicing good personal hygiene practices:
  • Handwashing for 20 seconds with hot water and soap
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Social distancing – maintain 6 feet social distance
  • Maintaining healthy immune system- get enough sleep, eat healthy, stay hydrated
  • Stay home when you are feeling unwell

Should you have specific questions about COVID-19, we recommend visiting the Illinois Department of Public Health’s website at  dph.illinois.gov  or calling their hotline at 800.889.3931.
