Dear Superintendents and School Leaders,

An official with the state confirmed this morning that the County of San Diego has not been taken off the watchlist. Therefore, it is premature to use the customizable template letter we shared on Friday to update your community about our removal from the list.

Once off the list, counties must continue to show normal data for 14 consecutive days before schools are permitted to conduct in-person education.

On the 15th day (provided none of the state’s six metrics are abnormal), schools may re-open and in-person instruction can occur.

I will share additional updates as information becomes available. Thank you for all you are doing during these unprecedented times. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if I can be of assistance.
