COVID-19 UPDATE 5
March 21, 2020
CONSTRUCTION TO CONTINUE
Governor Murphy this afternoon announced a stay-at-home order for most NJ residents along with further business closures in the ongoing effort to protect the public against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As a result of Executive Order 107 all “non-essential” businesses must close and all public gatherings including weddings are banned.
THE NEW RESTRICTIONS DO NOT APPLY TO THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. At this time construction projects are allowed to continue and construction workers are specifically allowed to drive to and from work. In addition to the language in the executive order, the governor reiterated during the question and answer session that construction has been deemed essential.
