COVID-19 UPDATE 9
 
Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 109: Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 109 basically pertains to the medical health industry and gives direction to hospitals and ambulatory facilities to cancel all “elective” surgeries or “invasive” surgeries scheduled for performance after 5:00, Friday March 27, 2020. Also included in this Executive Order is section 7 that states:
  • “7. Any business or non-hospital health care facility, including but not limited to dental facilities, construction facilities, research facilities, office-based healthcare or veterinary practices, and institutions of higher learning, in possession of PPE, ventilators, respirators, or anesthesia machines that are not required for the provision of critical health care services should undertake an inventory of such supplies and send that information to the State by no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020. The Office of Emergency Management shall establish a process by which entities subject to this provision can submit this information.”
 
Although the Executive Order states “should” the official State websites state, “required to report” and “shall report”. Please respond accordingly.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance document: As we have reported to you, Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders continue to identify construction operations as an allowable activity and to date, most State and Local construction projects continue to operate.  We wish to remind UTCA member firms that it is of utmost importance that your field personnel and project sites adhere to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance document located here- https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/guidance-business-response.html . It is important to protect our employees to the best of our abilities for the industry to continue to operate during the COVID-19 restrictions.
 
NJ DOT Traffic Control Coordinator Certifications: Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, the New Jersey Department of Transportation has halted its “Traffic Control Coordinator” (TCC) recertification classes. In lieu of the recertification classes, the NJDOT will extend all TCC certification expiration dates to 180 days.
