Dear Sinai Temple Community,

This afternoon we learned that a Sinai Akiba Academy ECC teacher's parent tested positive for COVID-19. Though asymptomatic at the time, the last time we believe the parent was at Sinai Temple was on March 4 for Planet Purim. The ECC teacher is now showing signs of possible infection and is being tested. We will provide you with more information as soon as we have it.

In light of this information, several changes have been made to the Temple calendar. Sinai Akiba changes will also be made and sent in a supplemental communication shortly.

-Today's afternoon minyan in canceled

-Tomorrow's (Saturday) afternoon minyan is canceled

-Beginning this Sunday morning, daily minyan services will be available online. More information on this to come.

-Beginning this Sunday, Sinai Temple is closed for ALL events, services and meetings . Only staff will be able to access the building. One caveat to this is the Sinai Akiba online resource pick-up process, which SAA will send information about in an e-mail to parents shortly.

Please know that the safety and security of our community is our top priority. We are working day and night to ensure our students, families, members and staff are as safe as possible.

We encourage all members to take appropriate precautions to safeguard themselves and their families from harm. Please do not hesitate to speak to your medical provider about steps your family should take in light of this information. If you are not feeling well, we urge you to seek medical attention and remain safely away from others.

Though we are gathering less often in person, you remain part of a warm, caring community concerned for your spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. To speak to a clergy member or for any questions, please reply to this e-mail or contact [email protected] .

We will continue to be in touch with regard to this ever-changing situation.

Shabbat Shalom.

Warmly,

Howard Lesner, Executive Director & COO
Betty Winn, Interim Head of School
