COVID-19 Update
Dear Family and Friends of Tabor Home:

Tabor Home Outbreak Update
During the Tabor Home outbreak, 63 residents in total and 44 staff in total have had COVID-19. Sadly, there have been two deaths. Some who had tested positive have already made a full recovery.
The health and safety of our residents and our staff is our first priority and a responsibility we take very seriously. We continue to work with Fraser Health to ensure the following measures are in place to prevent further spread of COVID-19 at Tabor Home:
  • ensuring that staff wear a procedure mask that covers their mouth and nose, eye protection and other personal protective equipment as recommended;
  • ensuring twice-daily screening of tenants for any signs of illness
  • enhancing our daily cleaning practices;
  • maintenance of 2m of physical distance in dining rooms, staggered meal times, tray service or other strategies
  • cancellation of group activities and client gatherings, while providing one-to-one activity as appropriate;
  • visitor access restrictions and screening measures for essential visitors
  • providing active staff screeners to support site to screen all staff twice a shift
  • providing ongoing staff education by Fraser Health and facility-based staff
  • priority access to necessary supplies such as masks, eye protection and gowns
  • grouping of staff and residents to prevent cross over between well and sick individuals

Prayers for Tabor Home
"As a member of Ross Road Community Church I have heard news that tabor village has been impacted with covid. I am so sorry that hear this!
Tabor always has special place in our hearts. It's hard to imagine what it would look like if my mom was still living and now working with covid. I do imagine her giving up herself and tirelessly serving the residence and staff without too much grumbling or complaining. She would find something to smile about even though the work would be ever more difficult. A verse that comes to mind is Phillipians 4:4, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"
I know it's probably not easy to rejoice at this moment when there is suffering and challenges all around you and Tabor village. I will pray that you and the staff can find something each day to be thankful for and rejoice in.
Praying for God's ultimately healing for Tabor village.
-A grateful daughter

"Thank you all so so so much for what you do every day for our grandpa and so many others! Sending love and prayers to all during these difficult times! You guys are amazing in our eyes and we can’t thank you enough! Always in our prayers!"

This photo shows the Grade 1 class at Unity Christian School in Chilliwack making "hugs" for Tabor Home residents.

In addition to these kind students, many other schools have reached out with cards, prayers of support, and crafts. One school held an all school prayer for Tabor Home yesterday morning.

Tabor Home is overwhelmed with the love, kindness, and generosity that has been extended to residents and staff during this difficult time. We are part of one truly incredible community.

Thank you to all those who continue to hold Tabor Home staff and residents in your prayers.
