COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear Tabor Village Family and Friends:
Staff Appreciation Event
Thanks to our generous sponsor, Rexall, we were able to invite Slavic Rolls food truck to Tabor to bless our healthcare heroes with delicious treats. Is there anything better than sunshine and ice cream? Definitely not.

We may be bias, but this team has gone above and beyond over the course of the pandemic and we're sure grateful for all their hard work and dedication to serving older adults. It's our honour and privilege to serve those who came before us, but this pandemic has caused everyone - residents, families, staff, and community - added stress and exhaustion. Finding small ways like this to show appreciation and say thanks to one another is a blessing on both ends.

Thank you healthcare heroes for all that you do on the frontlines.
Visitation Update
We have been enjoying seeing so many visitors and are thrilled to say that not only do 94% of residents Village wide have a registered visitor, but we had 751 visits take place just last month alone! We just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your patience and understanding with our booking system and screening protocols, your willingness and flexibility in following safety measures, and for your understanding in keeping your PPE on for the duration of your visit. Tabor Home Recreation Update
We have been enjoying welcoming in and getting to know many new residents. Our days are filled with small group BINGO, "Get Moving" (exercise), Cranium Crunches Trivia, word games, puzzles (1:1), plenty of walks in the garden and devotionals. While we're still practicing all the necessary safety measures, it has been a true joy to get back to a little bit of "normalcy" with activities. Already counting down the days to spring when we can get back to our therapeutic gardens.

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY!
Always a privilege and a joy to celebrate milestones like this. Our dear friend here is 100 years young! How fitting it was that she turned 100 on International Women's Day of all days! With the abundance of love and flowers sent from her family, it's no secret this is one special lady loved by all who know her. Happy Birthday!

It's open to anyone and offers a level of support during what can be a challenging time.

Message of Hope with Pastor Ray
Is Being Alone a Bad Thing?

An interesting story in Genesis 32:22-32 includes the phrase, “So Jacob was left alone.” (verse 24) These words may sound disturbing. We don’t like being left alone. But as the story infolds, Jacob finds himself encountering God. Jacob was, in fact, “alone” with God. The story ends with renewal and blessing, and the experience changed Jacob.

Being alone with God is a good thing. Maybe as we continue through these days of semi-isolation from family and friends, we need to grasp this opportunity to spend more quiet, reflective time.

Maybe this prayer for Holy Leisure by Richard Foster will help us
"I confess to you, dear God, that holy leisure is far from me.
I have a minute of empty space and I rushed to fill it.
I act, I do, I talk.
Why can't I simply be still?
Plant in me a longing for stillness.
Create in me a hunger for open, empty spaces."
