COVID-19 Update
Dear Family and Friends of Tabor Village:

Life Enrichment and Recreation Update
We want to keep you informed on the activities happening around our Village to give you a better picture of what life looks like on a day to day basis for your loved ones Village wide. At the end of every month, we will be sharing the activities calendar for the upcoming month, as well as some highlights from the previous month to keep you in the know and to share the fun times happening around the Village.

VALHAVEN
October is one of our favourite months. Between Thanksgiving and Fall being in full swing, there are so many traditions we have here. We had a blast decorating pumpkins and had the joy of indulging in delicious treats like apple pie! In fact, the highlight for us may just be our Apple Pie Social. Fun games and sweet treats, what more could we need!? Pictured here are some photos from our times together.

TABOR HOME
Between Valhaven and us, we're pretty sure Tabor Village wins for best pumpkins ever! We usually go to the pumpkin patch in October, but we had to improvise this year so instead, we brought the pumpkin patch here and had some good laughs.
Our pumpkins are better than your pumpkins
Morning Hymn Sing
TABOR COURT
A highlight of this month was hearing all the things tenants are thankful for at Thanksgiving this year. Even in the midst of a pandemic where people are separated from loved ones, and missing so many of our regular activities, tenants still find so much to be thankful for! We turned the things people were thankful for into a display by our front desk (pictured in above photo).

Public Health Advisory
Tabor Village strongly supports Public Health and Fraser Health's advisory restricting private homes to only the people who live in each household. With the increasing COVID-19 case count in the Fraser Health region we urge you to exercise caution. Please follow the Public Health advice, take a pause from small gatherings and reconsider your social interactions outside your household. If you are meeting people outside your homes, please follow safety measures, socialize outdoors or in licensed COVID-19 safe businesses.

Tabor Village relies on essential workers, healthcare heroes, who provide vital day to day supports and services to older persons living at the Clearbrook and Valhaven campuses. We need to protect the health and wellness of healthcare workers as well as social and essential visitors who play a fundamental role in the quality of life for older persons that rely on all of us to be there for them, especially during this public health crisis.

We have seen that when we all do our part we can flatten the curve. Let's work together to protect ourselves, our families, our friends, and people who we don't know.

Ethics Around Visiting Loved Ones During A Pandemic

Let's Chat!
I realize this has been a difficult year for so many and I would love the opportunity to chat with each one of you to check in and hear how you are doing and holding up through all of this. I would also appreciate learning from you on how we can improve at Tabor Village.

With this in mind, I will be reaching out via phone call to every family over the course of the next few months and very much look forward to speaking with you all soon.
Have you rolled your #SleeveUp to #FightFlu?
It is the goal of Tabor Village Leadership and the COVID-19 Outbreak Management Committee that we have a record number of vaccinated staff and residents this year with a goal of 100% compliance. We trust you will assist in making this a success.

If you haven't yet, please mask up, lather up, and sleeve up to fight flu.
