COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear Tabor Village Family and Friends:

Caring For Our Mental Health
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, many people, young and old, have noticed an impact on their mental health. Feelings of anxiety, isolation, constant worrying, confusion, and sadness have sadly increased for a lot of people. As much as we need to follow the safety guidelines of Provincial Health to protect our physical beings, we also need to ensure we're caring for our mental well-being.

Wellness Together Canada has an online portal of mental health support and counselling available to anyone who wants it. Just as we encourage our staff to take advantage of resources such as these to protect their mental health, we encourage you to do the same. We all could use a little extra help right now and that's OK!

Celebrating BC Seniors Care Providers Day
On February 23, 2021, the Province of British Columbia officially proclaimed BC Seniors Care Providers Day. “It is our seniors care providers who have truly borne the weight of the global pandemic over the past year, giving today’s proclamation even more significance,” says Terry Lake, CEO of BCCPA and EngAge BC.

Check out the video below to see how prominent members of the community and media personalities showed their appreciation to everyone who works in the sector for their incredible effort during the public health emergency.

Grateful for the many healthcare heroes at Tabor Village.

Message of Hope with Pastor Ray
A Better World

We all hope for a better world. Many of us across the planet pray regularly for a better world. One Scottish pastor who lived in the early 20th century wrote many inspirational prayers of hope and vision. Here is one (slightly modernized)

“Prayer For the Making of a Better World” by John Baillie
O loving God, you who surround the whole earth with your mercy, favour and love, who desires that none of your children should perish, we call down your blessing today upon all who work and pray towards the making of a better world.

We pray, O God especially:
for all who are committed to truth:
for all who are working for justice:
for all who are striving for peace between nations:
for all who are engaged in healing disease:
for all who are involved in the relief of poverty:
for all who are compassionate in the rescue of the fallen:
for all who are pursuing unity in the Church:
for all who preach the gospel:
for all who bear witness to Christ around the world:
for all who suffer for righteousness’ sake.

Overcome, O Lord, all the forces of cruelty and wrong. Defeat all selfish, worldly minded schemes and prosper all that is conceived among us in the spirit of Christ and carried out to the honor of His blessed name. Amen
