COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine Update
A very special thank you goes out to the 366 staff and residents/tenants who have been vaccinated as this Pfizer vaccine is our best defense against COVID-19.
Tabor Home: 188 vaccinated (76 residents, 112 staff)
Valhaven: 42 vaccinated (24 residents, 18 staff)
Tabor Court: 136 vaccinated (94 residents, 42 staff)
We're also thrilled to announce that all residents who previously received their first dose of the vaccine received their second dose on Wednesday, February 17th. This is great news as it means everyone is that much safer from the virus.
Sincere thanks to our clinical and recreation teams for assisting with the vaccination process. We could not have done this without them!
While most staff have also received their second dose, staff vaccinations for the first dose were spread out over a few weeks, which means their second doses are also spread out. It's a work in progress, but we will get there soon.

We understand that the continued restrictions are frustrating, but want to encourage families to reach out with messages or by booking window or digital visits with their loved ones. Anyone can come visit at our window. We also enjoy helping residents visit with their loved ones with our social visits (designated visitor only).
PPE Reminder
Thank you to all who continue to come prepared with masks and eye protection when visiting our Village. Just a friendly reminder that masks are mandatory on all Tabor Village property, both inside our buildings and outside our buildings in our parking lots.
If you are an Essential Visitor or Designated (Social) Visitor who is therefore permitted to come inside our residences, both a mask and eye protection are mandatory for the entire duration of your time inside the building. Due to the extravagant costs of PPE, we kindly ask and strongly encourage you to purchase and bring your own mask and eye protection when visiting.
If friends or family would like to visit, please call or email to schedule an appointment with Jackie Kingma, Visitation Supervisor.

Message of Hope with Pastor Ray
The Season of Lent
The hours of daylight in each day are increasing. You might say the days are lengthening. That is the root of the word “Lent”, to lengthen. Spring is coming.
Lent is a period of forty days before Easter Sunday. It is a time to reflect on the life, love, and ministry of Jesus. Some people give up something like chocolate or baked goods for Lent as a small act of surrender or personal sacrifice.
This year, Lent began on Wednesday, February 17, and Easter Sunday is April 4.
While the observance of Lent is not in the Bible, the number 40 is important. Forty years for Israel in the wilderness before entering the promised land, Elijah went on a mission, walking forty days, the prophet Jonah gave the people of Nineveh a forty day warning, Jesus fasted forty days and it is forty days from the resurrection of Jesus until his ascension.
Why not use these forty days before we celebrate the renewal, resurrection and hope of Easter to reflect, pray, and anticipate?
