Let's Talk Christmas
TABOR HOME & VALHAVEN
Visitation
Scheduled on-site visitation will continue as per usual for Valhaven. Reach out to Jackie Kingma to book your visit
Due to Tabor Home's current outbreak, on-site visitation is still temporarily closed, but will resume as soon as the outbreak is declared over.
Christmas Decorations
Christmas decorations are permissible as long as thorough hand hygiene is practiced before and after decorating and routine cleaning continues.
Food
Food items that are prepared at home should be packaged in single-use food containers that can be sanitized upon arrival and discarded. Family and friends dropping off the food item should not expect their containers to be returned.
It is preferred that any food item that is brought in should have a longer shelf life, does not require refrigeration, and is non-perishable.
As long as these safety guidelines are followed, tenants get to enjoy all the homemade traditional Christmas baking you/they would like.
Gifts
Gifts that are new products delivered in a disposable bag are permissible. Potted plants and vases are acceptable. Please have flowers already in a vase with water. Staff will then sanitize the vase and it will be delivered right away.
Clothing
Any clothing that is brought in for residents should be brought in a disposable bag and it will be laundered on-site before giving to residents.
Best Practice for Drop Offs
Every item brought in should be labelled with the resident's name, room number, and date delivered.
TABOR COURT
Outings
As per current BC Provincial Health orders, social outings are no longer permitted. While physically distant walks outdoors with a social visitor is acceptable, no tenant should be going inside someone else's home. If a tenant does leave for a social outing, he/she is required to self-isolate for 14 days upon their return.
Assisted Living tenants are permitted to continue going out for essential groceries and/or supplies. Essential medical appointments may continue while following all guidelines.

We Must Do Our Part
As cases continue to rise across the province, and with the recent orders from Public Health, we strongly urge you to do your part in keeping yourselves, your family, and the community safe. Stay home as much as possible, keep your distance, wash your hands, don't go into anyone else's home, only socialize with those in your immediate household. This is hard, especially given the Christmas season that we're entering into, but the safety of our loved ones depends on it.
