Vol. 1 Iss. 3
As the June 15 California reopening and mask mandate change information continues to develop at a rapid pace, CDA is creating new resources to support members. Currently, they are working to develop a reopening suite of resources that will be available on cda.org. The mask mandate change that went into effect 6/15 will not change the mask requirements for dental practices (CDC guidance).

Here are current resources for employers and patients, should you receive any questions:

For Employers:
  • No new Cal/OSHA regulations will take effect June 15. The soonest any new regulations could take effect is the end of June. Until new temporary emergency standards are approved, dental practices should continue to comply with the ETS that took effect November 2020. The full article can be found on cda.org.
  • For dentists who are also employers, as California opens up, there may be continued questions regarding employee vaccination, including vaccine policies, employer mandates and employee vaccine reactions. For more information, visit the Employer Best Practices and Policies in the Vaccine Toolkit.

For Patients:
  • To help ease confusion among patients, CDA advises practice owners to clearly communicate the CDC mask guidance to patients prior to their scheduled appointment. Sample messaging and email templates are available for practices to use in the article on cda.org.

As new information becomes available, we will update you and apprise you of resources added on cda.org. Should you have any questions, please contact me.
