Dear Rancho Cordova Residents and Businesses,

We are beginning 2022 with some updates related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Public Health Order

Today, Sacramento County Public Health issued a Public Health Order due to the highly transmissible COVID-19 Omicron variant, which is creating unprecedented COVID-19 case rate increases in Sacramento County.

What Does This Health Order Mean?

This Health Order requires that (1) all public meetings in the county occur virtually until further notice, and (2) it encourages workplaces to conduct meeting remotely, as business needs permit.

The July 29, 2021 Public Health Order requiring all individuals in Sacramento County to wear face coverings indoors in workplaces and in public settings is still in effect.

How Can I Best Protect Myself and My Community?

High infection rates are expected to impact hospital capacity, especially for those who are unvaccinated or not boosted, as well as those at higher risk of severe infection.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), California Department of Public Health and Sacramento County Public Health all recommend getting vaccinated or boosted, wearing a face covering, and washing hands or hand sanitizing frequently.

Recovery Assistance for Eligible Businesses and Nonprofit Organizations

This week, the city launched a second round of grants to assist businesses, as well as nonprofits, that are experiencing economic hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city will provide grants of up to $40,000 to businesses and between $5,000 and $10,000 to nonprofit organizations that are located in the city and serve our Rancho Cordova community. More than $1.6 million in funding is available thanks to the city’s Community Enhancement & Investment Fund and other COVID-19 sources.

City businesses and nonprofit organizations can apply between now and Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 5 PM at CityofRanchoCordova.org/RecoveryGrants.
