January 2021
A Message from the CEO
Happy New Year everyone! As another year begins, it is important to reflect back on what we learned from the previous year and grow stronger within ourselves. One simple way of growing stronger in 2021 is to make sure you have your annual physical and dental appointments made! We all need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves first in order to take care of others. Make that call today!

We are still in the middle of the COVID pandemic and CHDC did receive a small amount of Moderna vaccines for our staff the first week of January. We are anticipating the 2nd dose to be received as well and we requested more doses to assist with vaccinating eligible people per the Department of Health’s vaccination plan. For now, please contact your local hospital and there should be information on their website about getting the COVID vaccine.

We still have a long road ahead of us with this pandemic and it seems information is changing daily. The most important support CHDC can provide is for you to take care of yourself and your family and keep up with your well-checks! Please call 610-326-9460 to make your appointment today!

Warms regards,

Bridgette McGivern, CEO
Community Health & Dental Care, Inc.

CHDC is Getting Vaccinated Against COVID-19
This month, CHDC received the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine! On January 6, we began administering the first dose to our staff. We look forward to serving our community by providing vaccines in the coming months, following the PA Vaccine Distribution Guidelines.

Johnson & Johnson has begun an initiative to provide vaccine distribution sites with Tylenol. All staff members will be given a small sample packet of Tylenol after they are vaccinated.

Check out the collage to see some familiar faces getting their vaccine!

CHDC in the Community
Holiday Food Drive Partnership with Operation 143

This holiday season, our staff went above and beyond in our food drive to benefit Operation 143! In just 2 weeks, we were able to collect enough donations to fill an entire truck bed. Our contributions will go directly to food-insecure students in our community.

During a year in which so many people faced immense hardship, our staff and their families came together for a great cause. On behalf of Operation 143 and the students they serve, Thank You!

The Importance of Vaccines:
Building Trust within
Communities of Color
In case you missed it, you can watch a recording of last week's virtual town hall event, "The Importance of Vaccines: Building Trust Within Communities of Color" on YouTube. This informative event brought together healthcare professionals and community leaders to answer common Covid-19 vaccine questions.

We would like to thank everyone who worked hard to bring this event together, with a special thanks to our very own Irene Shepherd, CPNP, who represented CHDC and spoke on the panel. Check out the recording below!
