COVID-19 Vaccine Available for Phase 1A and Residents 65+
If you belong to Phase 1A (frontline healthcare workers and residents at long-term care facilities) or are a Los Angeles County resident aged 65 and older, you are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine supply is still extremely limited, and the Department of Public Health urges patience as they work urgently with their federal and state partners to expand capacity and supply in the weeks ahead. Appointments and doses are limited.

With almost 1.4 million residents aged 65 and older, and between 700,000-800,000 eligible healthcare workers, the number of vaccines required to complete two doses is over 4 million. Unfortunately, with limited vaccine supply, there are not enough appointments available to meet demand.
How to make an appointment:
  • Visit the County’s website to check for and to schedule an appointment for vaccination, which fill up very quickly. Appointments are mandatory. Vaccinations are free.
  • Please be patient if there are no available appointments when you first visit the county's website.
  • For those without access to a computer or the internet, or with disabilities, a County call center is open daily from 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. to help schedule appointments at 833-540-0473.
  • Individuals are encouraged to use the website whenever possible to sign up for an appointment to avoid long wait times on the phone.
  • You may receive communication from your health care provider with information about COVID-19 vaccinations and how to receive one through your provider.
Tips to make your vaccine appointment:
Check the County's website early in the morning as it seems like appointments are released sometime during the night or check periodically throughout the day.
Be vigilant and persistent, especially if you are hoping to get vaccinated at a specific location.
Some locations have phone numbers to call if you have specific questions about disability parking or any other needs. You should make the appointment and confirm it, then call to see if you can get your questions answered.
Tips for vaccination locations:
Location Pin 1
The Forum
The closest County-run vaccination site is at The Forum, 3900 W. Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90305. These large-scale vaccination sites will be able to vaccinate approximately 4,000 people per day at each site (supplies permitting).
Location Pin 1
Crenshaw Clinic
Parking is not available on W. 79th (it is blocked off). Drive up Normandie and park on the street (Vermont has testing site traffic; this location is doing testing and vaccinations).
Location Pin 1
Dodger Stadium
This is a drive-through location, where you remain in your vehicle.
Information on making your second appointment:
  • Residents who received their first dose of the vaccine at a Los Angeles County-run large capacity vaccination site will be provided the date and location to receive their second dose, and automatically registered for their second dose appointment. They will also get email reminders.
  • Residents who received their first dose of the vaccine at a Los Angeles City Fire Department-run site will be notified about their second dose appointment.
  • Residents who received their first dose from another provider, including a clinic or a pharmacy, must register for the second appointment with their provider.
  • You do not need to go back to the same location to receive your second dose. Just make sure you are receiving the same type of vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna).

State to Simplify Vaccine Eligibility
Beginning mid-February, the state will implement a statewide standard under which health care workers, individuals 65+ and education and child care, emergency services and food and agriculture workers will be eligible to start making appointments to receive the vaccine, pending vaccine availability. These are the groups identified in Phase 1B, Tier 1. Future groups will become eligible based on age. This statewide standard will move in unison across all 58 counties. This will allow the state to scale capacity up while also ensuring the vaccine goes to disproportionately impacted communities.

Your Health District’s Role
Health Promotion & Education:
Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) has been committed to providing accurate and timely information to residents regarding COVID-19 vaccine progress, effectiveness, safety, distribution prioritization and access.

Vaccine Distribution:
BCHD is working with local city and school partners to bring vaccines to the Beach Cities, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Supervisor Janice Hahn.
  • Closed Clinics: BCHD is also working with local fire departments to explore closed clinics for eligible populations in 1B - Tier 1. Closed clinics could serve educators, emergency services and congregate and home bound living settings.
  • Public Distribution Site: BCHD has requested to be a local vaccine distribution site at AdventurePlex (1701 Marine Ave., Manhattan Beach). This closed Mega-POD, could serve 1B populations. This includes adults 65 and older, education staff, emergency service workers and other essential workers including the food and agriculture sector.
