Dear GOA Members,

As we reopen our facilities and begin seeing patients again many people are looking for things such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and guidelines for patient care. One thing many may not have considered is their insurance coverage.

While it may be difficult to prove where and when someone contracted COVID-19, we know we live in a litigious society.

This year, the GOA, with the help of longtime supporter Berger & O’Neal, partnered with PointeNorth Insurance Group and Cincinnati Insurance Company as one of our Diamond Level Sponsors. Currently Cincinnati Insurance does not have an exclusion clause within their professional liability in the event a patient claims they contracted the disease while in your office.

While this does not guarantee coverage it may provide a layer of defense as each claim stands on its own merit. We recommend reporting any incident to your insurance company so it may be investigated accordingly.
