Good evening,
June 12, 2020: The top three countries reported high daily numbers today, and many others set new records: India (ranked 4th), Mexico, Chile, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, South Africa, Egypt, and Bolivia (in descending order). The United States added more cases today than it had in a week and Russia also had its highest daily report in 12 days.

Today, the United States coronavirus cases grew faster than they had in almost a week, ending the day well above the 25,000 mark, with this week's highest daily total. Florida yet again set a new single-day record of 1,902 new cases, only one day after having set its last 1,698 high mark. Texas and California reported near single day records. North Carolina, Arizona, Alabama, and Arkansa set their respective new daily record; the four states' graphs and updated stats are featured below.

Just as it did yesterday, California reported its second highest number of new cases today + 3,627. Thankfully, the state reported less fatalities, ending the day with 47 new covid victims; may they rest in peace. Were California a country, it would rank 14th, with about 8,000 more confirmed infections above Mexico's published data.

The Madera County Department of Public Health announced that 10 more of our county's residents are infected with COVID-19, bringing our local cases to 198. Today's combined coronavirus cases from the 7 local counties added 350 new infections and 2 new fatalities. The 7 counties have reported 10,519 infections and 219 covid deaths since the first cases appeared in the central valley three months ago.
