Important Message from GCCCD

Beginning today, everyone 16 years and older is eligible for a free COVID-19 vaccination. All Grossmont and Cuyamaca College students are urged to get a vaccination to protect your health and the health of others.

If you have a healthcare provider, you can obtain vaccination shots through them, along with many pharmacies and grocery stores. If you cannot get a vaccine through your healthcare provider, find a vaccination site and set up an appointment through the San Diego County vaccination website or through myturn.ca.gov. In East County, vaccination sites are being offered at:

·        Cuyamaca College
·        Grossmont Center
·        East Public Health Center, 367 N. Magnolia Ave., El Cajon
·        Lemon Grove Community Center, 3146 School Lane, Lemon Grove

Why should young people get a vaccine?

• COVID-19 vaccines are the safest way to acquire protection from the COVID-19 virus.
• While less likely, young people may still suffer serious symptoms or long-term effects from COVID-19 disease.
• Younger adult age groups tend to get infected first and spread the infection to more vulnerable members of our community.
• The more vaccinated individuals our community has, the less opportunity there is for variant strains to spread or occur.

Please make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination as soon as you can. As the Grossmont and Cuyamaca College begin to offer more in-person services and classes, this is your opportunity to make sure you can safely return to our campuses!
