We are
cancelling our weekly scheduled child welfare webinar on Thursday April 16th to support and encourage you to participate in multiple calls that will be scheduled by
NC DSS on Friday. NC DSS will be sending out
notices of the meetings today.
We will share any and all information that we receive related to these calls, so please keep your eyes peeled for additional information from Benchmarks later on this afternoon.
There will be two calls scheduled
Friday morning, with the first call starting at 9:30 am that will be for county DSS agencies and private agencies that license foster homes. Both morning calls will focus on the same items but will split agencies/attendees into two groups based alphabetically by agency name, to create smaller groups that will allow for more interaction for questions and feedback.
There will be
two more calls in the afternoon, one for agencies that provide
adoptions and the second for
residential Children's Home agencies.
Much of the discussion will be around implementation of the
Executive Order 130 that provided waivers around some NC DSS rules and licensing requirements. NC DSS will also be releasing the new Responsible Individual List (RIL) number this week.
Today, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) released additional flexibility around criminal background checks and face-to-face caseworker contacts that they will discuss in the webinars.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns! We are wishing each of you a safe, healthy and as great a week is possible given the circumstances. Thanks so much for all that you get up and do each and every day for the children, adults and families of North Carolina!
