Community Group Connections
As we move into another month of physical distancing, our ongoing priority is to foster community care and connections. One way we intend on doing so is by checking in via video chat with all of our affiliated groups and inviting any other groups to join our network.
San José Peace and Justice Center values collaboration, interconnectedness, and solidarity. We’d like to know how you and your members are feeling, how your group has and continues to adjust, and how we can serve as a resource.

Please contact Tara at and let us know what the most convenient day and time is to schedule a ~30 minute chat!
COVID Chronicles
COVID Chronicles  is an ongoing series of personal accounts from community members near and far during this global pandemic. For our first installment, Neil writes a letter about his experience as a Senior at San José State University and an intern at San José Peace and Justice Center.  Click here to read his story .

We are accepting submissions to be featured on our website, so contact Tara for more information!

The African American Community Service Agency (AACSA) is one of the only African American cultural centers in the Silicon Valley. Their AACSA CARES drive empowers the community by providing Emergency Food Baskets/Bags, toiletries, hygiene kits, feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes, formula, activity kits, information and resources to keep everyone safe and well-informed. This drive is currently serving those impacted by COVID-19 in Santa Clara County.

Community Seva is working tirelessly to help address some of the biggest challenges faced by people who are unhoused during this pandemic. Lack of health care coupled with malnutrition and bad hygiene put homeless people at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 than people who have the privilege to shelter-in-place. Women in these encampments are struggling to take care of their basic feminine needs with lack of access to any supplies.

The LGBTQ Youth Space supports and empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and ally youth and young adults in Santa Clara County by providing a safe space for young people to develop their sexual and gender identities. Members of this community are at-risk as they shelter-in-place with people who may be abusive and dismissive, and the Youth Space continues to offer support by providing counseling and mental health programs during this traumatizing time.
