This week saw a dramatic uptick in COVID cases, placing another round of pressure on counties’ public health systems. Governor Hogan announced a wave of new resources – targeting staffing and equipment for hospitals and other health facilities, as well as public schools. Counties are mobilizing both local and federal funds to extend supply of testing kits and are coordinating the ongoing roll-out of vaccines and booster shots.
