Vote in PV Chamber General Election
The general election of PV Chamber Board Directors is traditionally done at the Annual Meeting. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are asking Chamber members to vote online for the PV Chamber Board of Director nominees. Each chamber member-business has one vote, and each member-individual has one vote. Voting will close on March 26, 2021 at Noon.
Federal and State Tax Deadline Extended
Pennsylvania will delay its tax filing deadline from April 15 until May 17, after the Internal Revenue Service announced it is delaying the federal tax filing deadline until May.
Both PA and federal income tax filing due date for individuals for the 2020 tax year will be automatically extended from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021.
This means taxpayers will have an additional month to file from the original deadline of April 15.
Gov. Wolf Revises Mitigation Orders
The Governor's office has revised and lifted some of PA's COVID-19 mitigation restrictions, effective April 4th.
  • Effective April 4, restaurants may resume bar service; alcohol service will be allowed without the purchase of food; the curfew for removing alcoholic drinks from tables will be lifted; and indoor dining capacity will be raised to 75 percent for those restaurants that are currently self-certified and those that undergo the self-certification process.
  • The governor also announced revised maximum occupancy limits for indoor events to allow for 25% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size, and maximum occupancy limits for outdoor events to allow for 50% of maximum occupancy, regardless of venue size.
  • Eliminate out-of-state travel restrictions.

COVID-19 Vaccine
At this time, vaccine supply remains extremely limited. Eligible candidates are urged to get on a vaccination list asap. It's recommended sign up on multiple sites. Just remember to remove yourself from a waiting list if you've already received your vaccination. Many healthcare providers are now offering signups through health portals.
Updates are provided in weekly briefings from the Commissioners (Live on FaceBook Wednesdays at 1:30pm). Video recording is available shortly thereafter on County's Facebook Page.
COVID-19 Vaccine Webinar
On Wednesday's Webinar, Dr. Robert McMurtrie presented the currently available vaccines and Dr. Broker spoke about changes in recommendations for those who are vaccinated. Audience Q&A followed their presentations.

MontcoStrong 2021 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program
Applications are still being accepted for the MontcoStrong 2021 Pennsylvania Hospitality Industry Recovery Program (sometimes referred to as “CHIRP” statewide). To apply, interested applicants should review the program guidelines and other information at www.montcopa.org/PAHIRP. Please note that earlier today DCED put out a social media post that made it seem like the program was closing statewide soon – that is not the case in Montgomery County and other counties in the region.

**One item to note on eligibility, many businesses are unsure of their NAICS code. Often times, without connecting the two concepts, this code is already in their possession as the “Business Activity” code they are putting on their business tax returns.
Shuttered Venue Operators Grant
The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program is Section 324 of the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits and Venues Act (Economic Aid Act) signed into law on Dec. 27, 2020. Read program details here.
Montco Rent & Utility Relief Program
Montgomery County Board of Commissioners announced the return of a funding program to help renters and landlords impacted by COVID-19. The program comes as the CDC’s eviction moratorium is set to expire on March 31 and Pennsylvania’s Public Utility Commission’s utility shutoff moratorium ends on April 1.

Montco expanded the program to offer up to 7 kits per small business

Please stop by the Chamber office to pickup (more) PPE kits for your business!
