Coronavirus Update #212
Phase 3 Provider Relief Fund Update

This morning our partners at AHCA/NCAL were notified by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that Phase 3 funding has been approved and the first half of Phase 3 payments should start going out today.

Here is the HHS press release that was just recently posted indicating that $10B of the payments will be sent out in the first wave of a Phase 3 distribution (a total of $25B is expected to be distributed under Phase 3).

HHS did not provide a list of who will receive payments in this first wave distribution. HHS has noted that if a center does not receive a payment, there isn’t necessarily an issue with the application, but it’s just a timing consideration for applications that have been processed to date and that HHS is working through the remining half now.

Also, please note in the release that HHS provided additional funding to applicants that were “disproportionately impacted by this pandemic,” including $1.1B to skilled nursing facilities. Please be on the lookout for additional information from HFAM and AHCA/NCAL.
