April 7, 2021
Dear Guild Community:
I am pleased to share continuing positive news with you in regard to COVID-19. Since February 1, 2021, The Guild has administered 1192 tests as part of the ongoing COVID-19 surveillance testing process. In that time, there have been three (3) positive tests, which equates to a three-month positivity rate of 0.26 percent. We have seen zero positive tests in the last eight weeks; so The Guild’s current positivity rate is 0.00 percent! I want to thank all community members—individuals, families, and staff—for being so diligent with COVID prevention measures.
VACCINATIONS
As of April 6, The Guild completed COVID-19 vaccination clinics provided by Pelmeds Pharmacy. Through this program, 62 percent of Guild staff and 92 percent of qualified individuals (ages 16+) received full vaccination against COVID-19. Even more have received vaccination through programs outside of The Guild. Unfortunately, the Governor will no longer allow congregate care sites to administer vaccines. Moving forward, vaccinations will be provided by Massachusetts’ vaccination sites. The Guild will coordinate with families of children turning 16 years old to find the most effective means of vaccination, if desired. The Guild’s Human Resources Department can work with new and existing staff members to facilitate appointment scheduling at a Mass vaccination site.
VISITATION AND QUARANTINE UPDATES
Given the low positivity rates and high vaccination rates, as of April 12, The Guild will roll back some COVID-19 related restrictions:
-
Effective immediately, Guild residents who are able to comply with mask and social distance mandates may engage in community activities available to any other resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
-
Effective April 12, The Guild’s quarantine guidance will be amended, with particular reference to reduction of quarantines for vaccinated individuals. Additionally, only shelter-in-place quarantines will be subject to “hazard pay” rates.
-
Effective April 12, The Guild will expand visitation options for students and adults in congregate care for up to two times weekly and invite visitors to complete the attestation form on the same day as the visit. Please view The Guild’s updated visitation protocols for specific information.
We will keep you abreast of any developments as they arise. As always, if you have questions or thoughts you would like to share, please contact The Guild’s leadership team or me directly.
Take care,
Amy C. Sousa, Chief Executive Officer
